Six Reasons Tarot and Yoga Blend Seamlessly for the Ultimate Master Practice

Tarot and yoga can be seamlessly intertwined and become a powerful force of transformation and evolution. 1. Intuition & Answers: Tarot and Yoga are practices that quiet the mind. The tarotist center herself so she can focus on the messages coming through the cards while the yogi focuses on her breath and brings attention inside the body. Both activities bring us into a state of higher listening and help us become the active observer of our present experience. Doing so allows

Tarot and the Nature of Divinity

This article first appeared on the Llewellyn Journal, September 11th, 2018 Photo by luizclas on Pexels.com You are the universe. You are divine. You are pure consciousness. Everything you see, notice, observe, listen to, eat, laugh at, make fun of, enjoy and dislike, resist and surrender to is the universe seeing itself, understanding itself, and recognizing itself. What is true for you is true for the universe. What is true for the universe is true for you. As above, so belo

Wrapping Up the Year with The Tarot School’s “Keep the Holidays Going Party.”

How do you end one of the craziest years in recent memory? With a party, of course! Family and friends, current and former students of The Tarot School gather in Manhattan every January for our annual keep The Holidays Going Party. Bill Brady, my hubby, makes a fun poster for us. This year, being the year of the Jedi, we stuck with a Star Wars theme. We gathered at my favorite local organic and sustainable wine bar Lallisse on Madison and 30th Street. The Tarot School’s Keep

Spicing Up Your Tarot Card a Day Practice with a “Choice Card”

What is a Tarot Card a Day? A Card a Day Tarot is a standard and enjoyable practice for many cartomancers. A Card a Day is setting aside about five minutes each morning to quiet your mind and pull a random Tarot card. The information you gather from the card can be used for contemplation, a head’s up for the day’s energy, a possibility to reflect upon or anything you like. I’ve been doing it every morning for more than ten years and always look forward to it. It’s usually per

    The Tower Trump

Tarotists specialize in deep listening. It is what we do best. We listen and observe by cherishing our intuition and feeling empathy for our clients. We are often Empaths ourselves, picking up on the emotions of others and feeling them as if they are our own. Tarotists harbor the unique ability to examine our reality as if the events of our life were cards in a spread. We can dissect and deconstructed everything that happens around us. We deftly cultivate meaning behind symbo

What I Don’t Know About Tarot Cards

What I Don’t Know About Tarot Cards

I write books about tarot (here’s a pic of my newest baby) which means loads of tarot facts are thumping around between my ears. If you are reading these words, it means you love to study the cards as much as I do. Tarot students are often nervous to “get it wrong”  if they don’t know what a card means. What most new cartomancers don’t realize is that their so-called ignorance of the cards is really their strongest asset. The key is waiting for the information to come to you.

Sasha Graham’s Tarot Diva Blog – Deck Collectors! Contemporary Magic Tarot Deck Availabl

Ahhhh the magic of an archetype.  Tarot’s strength is its structure. Like the Hero’s Journey, Tarot provides a blueprint to which any story, dogma or ideas can be laid upon. Better yet, Tarot is a trove of inspiration. This is likely the reason the art and fashion world returns to Tarot again and again. Whether Dolce and Gabanna  looks to tarot for fragerance inspiration in 2009 or the contemporary art world looks to shake things up. Stacy, pictured above at the opening of Co

Fabulous news! “Tarot Diva” is now available on Kindle! http://amzn.to/oTruZn Do you love books as much as I do? Truthfully, I never expected to be excited about electronic books. I love to hold a book, trace it’s binding with my fingers, set them on my shelves like talismans. They say you can tell a lot about a person by their friends but I’d rather peek into someone’s library. You can discover way more about a person by what they are (or aren’t) reading. Sasha Graham’s Tarot Diva Blog – The Wheel of Fortune Spins Like a Hurricane and Contest

Reading Joseph Campbell, I stumbled upon an incredible meaning for The Wheel of Fortune card. Campbell was speaking of the symbol, not the tarot card in particular. “If you are attached to the rim of The Wheel of Fortune, you will either be above, going down or at the bottom coming up. But if you are at the hub, you are in the same place all the time, centered.” Joseph Campbell, The Power of Myth I j’adore this interpretation! The Wheel of Fortune card seems to trump The Worl

You are cordially invited, Don’t know about you but rainy, windy, torrential storms send my blood racing and creative juices flowing. Our farmhouse is over 100 years old and when the lights go out, our walls start whispering . . . You’ve heard the story of how the story of Frankenstein was conceived? Mary Shelly attended a house party of the literary elite over a rainy weekend. They devised a game to tide them through the storm. Each guest was to write a horror story to be re

Sasha Graham’s Tarot Diva Blog – Artful Tarot Reading

Tarot card reading may not be the first thing to spring to mind at the height of summer. Most laypeople associate a tarot readings with Halloween and fallish activities, akin to bobbing for apples, pumpkin picking and trick-or-treating. You and I both know that tarot, unlike food, need not be seasonal to be fresh, delicious and fun every day of the year. Happily, my tarot business booms during sultry midsummer months. Here’s a pic taken last Saturday evening at a gorgeous par

Is there anything more delicious than a languid summer day? Afternoons by the water, infinite backyard shades of green, twinkling firelight parties. Waves of nostalgia, longing and satisfaction saturate my summer moments, fill me now as I write. Childhood summer adventures ensued as we were sent to my grandmother’s big old Connecticut home. Hours spent poolside, one daily trip to town and if we were lucky, a green monster cupcake from the window of the local bakery. Simple. S

Everyone’s talking about him, dare I utter his name? Charlie Sheen, there I said it. When a celebrity veers off track in a public way, as celebrities have a habit of doing lately, it gives us opportunity to re-examine the court cards in a context everyone is familiar with. The same way we find personal truth in celbrities ie – Mel Gibson embodies our embarrassing anti-semitic uncle whom we avoid at holiday parties. We see glimmers of our drug addicted, manic brother in a Char

Do you wear your heart on your sleeve? Emotions can feel transparent as glass, yet I bet plenty lurks in your inner recesses. I allowed a man to gaze deeply into my heart today. He was a doctor and I, a patient undergoing a scary heart test. I slipped Pablo Neruda’s “The Yellow Heart” in my bag on my way out the door. Fastened a necklace with the key to my heart to the nape of my neck. Just in case the doctor needed it . . . Made my way to the Upper East Side. Chaotic Christm
